Battle of Prestonpans
Battle of Prestonpans

Sunrise, 21st Sept, 1745. Having furtively marched through the night to secretly take up position on the Government forces’ left flank, the first line of Jacobites burst through the redcoat lines using their irresistible highland charge. Within minutes, terrified Government troops were fleeing the field in terror. Hundreds of them would be massacred against the surrounding high estate stone walls which they had initially utilised as a form of defence.
